Listen to Those Who are on the Ground Floor of Business

Are you still a believer in President Obama's Stimulus Plan? I lost interest two weeks after I voted for the guy. I am ashamed to admit I voted for Obama. His plan for America is Socialism....NOT Capitalism. He wants to redistribte the wealth. That sounds very noble...but that was the plan of the Bolsheviks in Russia. We all know where that led. The politicians in Washington are running amuck.

Watch this short video of an interview with Steve Wynn, a billionaire capitalist in Las Vegas. He is absolutely correct. Chaos reigns in Washington, DC. Those people are bent upon the destroying the constitution.

Do you still have your head in the sand? Are you still stupid enough to believe that this President will save us, our economy, our way of life. Do you still believe President Obama will appropriately defend the constitution of the United States of American? If you do, then I call you ...

STUPID, IGNORANT, A BELIEVER IN FANTASY...sucked in by the crafty rhetoric of those who prey upon the weak, and ignorant...

Will The Constitution Of The United States Of America Fail?

Considering the power hungry group of renegades we have in Washington, D.C. these days, one could ask if they will be victorious in destroying the constitution and turning the United States of America into another socialistic, third-world, 'also ran' country. Here are some comments on the subject by the prophets and apostles of our time.

1. Bruce R. McConkie in his writing The Millennial Messiah, 491.
"It is our firm conviction as a people that the stars and stripes will be waving triumphantly in the breeze, as a symbol of the greatness and stability of the United States of America, when the Lord comes. This nation was established to be the Lord's base of operations in this final gospel dispensation. From it the gospel is to go to every other nation and people. The greater its influence among the nations of the world, the more rapidly the gospel spreads. But the Lord has told us that all nations, the United States included, shall cease to be when he comes" (The Millennial Messiah, 491).

2. Joseph Smith from The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, 623 - 624.
"We are fast approaching that moment prophesied by Joseph Smith when he said: 'Even this nation will be on the very verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground, and when the Constitution is upon the brink of ruin, this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean, and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction" (Church Historian's Office, Salt Lake City, July 19, 1840)

3. Joseph Smith from The Words of Joseph Smith, 279.
Words of James Burgess: "In the month of May 1843, several miles east of Nauvoo, the Nauvoo Legion was on parade and review, at the close of which Joseph Smith made some remarks upon our condition as a people and upon our future prospects, contrasting our present condition with our past trials and persecutions by the hands of our enemies; also upon the Constitution and government of the United States, stating that the time would come when the Constitution and government would hang by a brittle thread and would be ready to fall into other hands, but this people, the Latter-day Saints, will step forth and save it. . . .I, James Burgess, was present and testify to the above"

4. Joseph Smith from The Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson, 618 - 619. "The Lord told the Prophet Joseph Smith there would be an attempt to overthrow the country by destroying the Constitution. Joseph Smith predicted that the time would come when the Constitution would hang, as it were, by a thread, and at that time 'this people will step forth and save it from the threatened destruction' (Journal of Discourses, 7:15). It is my conviction that the elders of Israel, widely spread over the nation, will at that crucial time successfully rally the righteous of our country and provide the necessary balance of strength to save the institutions of constitutional government."

5. President Harold B. Lee speaking in October 1973 at Ricks College.
Men may fail in this country, earthquakes may come, seas may heave beyond their bounds, there may be great drought, disaster, and hardship, but this nation, founded on principles laid down by men whom God raised up, will never fail.
This is the cradle of humanity, where life on this earth began in the Garden of Eden. This is the place of the New Jerusalem. . . . This is the place where the Savior will come to His temple.
We are living in a time of great crisis. The Country is torn with scandal and with criticism, with faultfinding and condemnation. There are those who have downgraded the image of this nation as probably never before in the history of the country.
I plead with you not to preach pessimism. Preach that this is the greatest country in all the world. . . . It is the nation that will stand despite whatever trials or crises it may yet have to pass through.
We must be on the optimistic side. This is a great nation; this is a great country; this is the most favored of all lands. While it is true that there are dangers and difficulties that lie ahead of us, we must not assume that we are going to stand by and watch the country go to ruin. We should not be heard to predict ills and calamities for the nation. On the contrary, we should be providing optimistic support for the nation.
You must remember . . . that this church is one of the most powerful agencies for the progress of the world, and we should . . . all sound with one voice. We must tell the world how we feel about this land and this nation and shouldbear our testimonies about the great mission and destiny that it has.
If we do this, we will help turn the tide of this great country and lessen the influence of the pessimists. We must be careful that we do not say or do anything that will further weaken the country. It is the negative, pessimistic comments about the nation that do as much harm as anything to the country today. We who carry these sacred responsibilities must preach the gospel of peace, and peace can only come by overcoming the things of the world. Now, we must be the dynamic force that will help turn the tide of fear and pessimism.

Excerpts from a talk given at Ricks College Devotional Assembly, "Have Faith in America," October 26, 1973, and printed in two sources:Ye Are the Light of the World: Selected Sermons and Writings of Harold B. Lee, 340, 350-351, and The Teachings of Harold B. Lee, edited by Clyde J. Williams, 365-366.

Women Do Know Their Place

This is from an email I received lately. I do not know if the "facts" are true or not, but the end line is a good lesson!

WOMEN WHO KNOW THEIR PLACE

Barbara Walters, of 20/20, did a story on gender roles in Kabul, Afghanistan , several years before the Afghan conflict. She noted that women customarily walked five paces behind their husbands.

She recently returned to Kabul and observed that women still walk behind their husbands. Despite the overthrow of the oppressive Taliban regime, the women now seem to, and are
happy to, maintain the old custom.

Ms. Walters approached one of the Afghani women and asked, 'Why do you now seem happy with an old custom that you once tried so desperately to change?'

The woman looked Ms. Walters straight in the eyes, and without hesitation said, 'Land Mines.'

Moral of the story is (no matter what language you speak or where you go):
<font color=#"0000ff">BEHIND EVERY MAN, THERE'S A SMART WOMAN

Now you can consider this cultural issue any way you like, but think of the lesson here. It is indeed the man's given responsibility to protect his woman from all dangers in life. "Land Mines" come in all sorts of varieties. So while we may laugh at the 'Land Mines' response, the reality is that the man should be in front to protect...not to be better or more important than the woman, but to protect her from whatever evil may come in life....including the land mines.

<font color=#"light blue">...IN GOD WE TRUST...

Southwest Airlines.....Hypocritical Dress Code?

It would seem that Southwest Airlines has a double standard relative to their dress code. Southwest took Kyla Ebbert off a flight because they deemed her miniskirt attire inappropriate.

The story appeared in the San Diego Union-Tribune.

Yet, Southwest has painted one of their jets with the full body of Bar Rafaeli an Israeli model dressed in a bikini.

According to the above cited article in the San Diego Union-Tribute, Southwest explained its treatment of Ebbert in a letter to her mother, saying it could remove any passenger “whose clothing is lewd, obscene or patently offensive” to ensure the comfort of children and “adults with heightened sensitivities.”

So my question is: If Kyla Ebbert's clothing was "lewd" or "patently offensive;" What does Southwest call the clothing on the girl painted on the side of their airplane?

Do I hear...."Hypocrits"...."Double Standard"......Kyle finally got to take flight. But one wonders what is Southwest's Dress Code...or do they just fly by the seat of their pants?

Are You A Terrorist?

Recall I said all conflict in life can be circumscribed into three conditions:

1.	Power
2.	Money
3.	Sex

Here is one simple example. And I will start out with what sounds like an outrageous overstatement. I suggest to you that religion is an issue of power or control or influence. I have many friends who are religious. I will generally categorize them as Christians. Good people who try to live according to what they believe God wants them to do.

Now, my friends, I say that when it comes to religion you are like the extremist Muslim terrorists! Now the screaming denials begin. Was that a rock that just hit the back of my head? (“Kill the infidel”) Did I hear that?

A huge difference between my friends and the terrorists, of course, is the life/death thing, but the attitude about what God wants is the same. A person's religion dictates certain practices...and the person believes those are the practices God wants…Correct? You, Baptist, are not going to kill the next door neighbor who is Catholic, but you are going to say that his worshiping saints is not what God wants. Am I wrong here?

Here is my point: Until we allow all people the right to live as they choose, we are behaving as mini-terrorists, making some requirement upon them to live as we dictate. We may not kill their body, but we kill their spirit, their will, their self-worth when we undertake to steal their free agency. No matter how subtle is our "loving" effort.

All conflict in life can be circumscribed into three conditions:

1.	Power
2.	Money
3.	Sex

There are no other areas in this life which cause conflict, bad behavior, criminal activity, negative attitudes. One might think to add stupidity to this list, or even an number of other conditions. However, when it is all said and done, these are the three.

What is worse, many “good” people participate in one or another without even recognizing it. If you brought it to their attention, they would proclaim loudly that you are wrong, unkind, stupid, trying to cause them grief, and so on. Need an example or two? Show up tomorrow and read!

Does The Gay Community Have A legimate Complaint?

It is no secret that I do not like unkind, aggressive, assaultive, deceitful methods used to obtain an end or gain a goal. That said, let us consider whether the gay community has any truth to their complaints or are they just whining control freaks.

The Williams Institute on Sexual Orientation Law and Public Policy is a think tank dedicated to the field of sexual orientation law and public policy located at the UCLA Law School. There are some interesting pieces of research found on the Williams Institute Site which offer answers to our question. Answers like: Same-sex couples pay more in taxes and receive fewer benefits than do married different-sex couples; This fact sheet outlines some of the ways in which same-sex couples are treated inequality by the federal government. Poverty is at least as common in the LGB population as among heterosexual people and their families; 99.3% of all US Counties have gay people living in them.

So, since the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual community are our brothers and sisters and if YOU believe in equal rights (which was and is a foundation commitment of the United States of America), then we need to put our money where our mouth is and act upon our beliefs....that we are all equal. There should be no 'haves' and 'have nots.',
AND....in case you are thinking about becoming upset, I am not suggesting we reverse the vote on Prop 8 in California. I am suggesting that we remember we are all God's children. I do not believe he appreciates the manner in which we sometimes treat our gay brothers and sisters.

Hail To The Sea Gulls

Remember the story about the sea gulls that came to the rescue of the early Utah pioneer Saints' crops in 1848 and ate all the crickets (I wonder how Jiminy Cricket felt about that?) which were devouring the crops? One wonders from whence came all those crickets! (By the way, they were not actual crickets but of the katydid family.) But the real question I want to ask is how all those sea gulls showed up? I wonder if anyone saw them coming in a horde or did they just drift into town one by one? I mean, sea gulls live by the ocean...or at least all the non-Utah cousins do. So when these birds were arriving to feast on crickets, did any one see them? I mean...did someone in Wendover see them or in Las Vegas or Battle Mountain or Reno? I doubt if the sea gulls arrived by train or mule team. FedEx was not delivering in those days. Someone must have seen them winging their way into Utah. Although ornithologists suggest that the gull was indigenous to the Great Salt Lake. Humm....the California Gull was/is indigenous to Utah. What I want to know is: Does anyone out there know of any recorded accounts of pioneer California Sea Gulls gliding their wagon train to Utah? If so, let's hear about it! Have a great day.

Attitudes and behaviors consistent with Stalinism (Joseph Stalin's form of Communism) can be seen in the Gay approach to social change. Why Stalinism? Joseph Stalin's approach to bringing about his political, governmental, and social goals was the repression of political opponents as necessary. Carrie Prejean, Miss California, in response to a question at the Miss America Contest on Sunday evening expressed her honest opinion that she did not agree with gay marriage. And the reaction? Do you think there was no repressive effort by the jeers in the audience or the Perez Hilton blog (be patient...his blog loads very slowly) or the reactionary behavior of Shanna Moakler, supposed close friend of Prejean until Prejean makes one statement of personal opinion. One of the problems with this great country is that people are all so scared to make any non-politically correct statement that people simply lie and fabricate all the time. Congratulations to Miss Carrie Prejean for being honest...even if it did cost her the Miss America title. GO GIRL. DON'T BACK DOWN TO REPRESSION!!!
