Came across a Jehovah Witness man at the post office today. He was being friendly and passing out the Watchtower magazine they produce. I commented that the Jehovah Witnesses do not vote. He concurred. I said it would be nice to have their vote on the same-sex marriage Propostion 8. He indicated it is not necessary because as he said: "We live in a big theater." He added: "Everything will work out." So I commented then "we should all just give up and not do anything," to which he replied: "No!" I reiterated that if it is "all going to work out" then we do not need to do anything. He just told me to have a good day and stopped talking to me.
I certainly support the right of freedom of religion...but on the other hand, Stupidity Exists Every Place. Probably it will work out someday, but between now and then we get to suffer the stupidity of other people....whomever they may be.
Whether you agree with the Jehovah Witness belief system or not, their vote could be a very powerful support. I guess they do not care if their children are taught same-sex marriage in school.
